Royal Mail Hotel Goodna, Qld (circa 1890).
John Drysdale left the family home in the Rocks in Sydney in the 1850s to start a new life in Queensland, which had recently become an open colony to non convicts and settlers.  John's son John was born in the hotel and carried on the family tradition of hotel keepers into the 1930s. At the time Goodna was an important port carrying passengers and cargo along the Bremer River between Brisbane and the new settlement in Ipswich.

  1. You could be excused for thinking the existing Royal Mail is the one in the photo as they look very similar. Great photo, looks like a fox hunt about to start? John D
